Health Tips in Minutes: Choosing Healthy Salad Dressing

Salad is definitely a healthy food choice, but unfortunately not all salad dressings are healthy. Some dressings are high in calories, fat, and sodium. If you don’t read the food label carefully, you could be turning a healthy salad into a salad that could have as many fat, calories, and sodium as a hamburger!

When choosing salad dressing, always read the food label to see just how much fat, calories and sodium is in each serving. Note: salad dressing serving sizes are usually only about 2 tablespoons. I know many people and restaurants definitely use MORE than 2 tablespoons of dressing on their salad.

Check out my newest Health Tips in Minutes video called Choosing Healthy Salad Dressing! BTW I tried to film this stealthily at a grocery store and was able to film this video and another clip but was shut down when I pushed my luck trying to film a 3rd installment. I was unfortunately asked to stop filming, but at least I got to finish my grocery shopping 🙂 Oh well…I’ll do whatever in the name of promoting health and health education 🙂

For April’s issue of EP Lab Digest, I was interviewed! Big thanks to Jodi Elrod for the wonderful interview. For those of you who are not familiar with EP Lab Digest, this magazine is a popular cardiology publication. I was honored and extremely excited to be interviewed for the magazine! Best part – the cardiologists I used to work with messaged me with congratulations and kudos! Definitely a highlight for Grace The Nurse 🙂

Motion Sickness Remedies

Ever get motion sickness? I do. I tend to get motion sickness from cars, boats, and sometimes trains. For those of you who don’t have motion sickness (lucky!), motion sickness is when people get nauseous while riding in moving vehicles. It can be torture…especially when you’re stuck in a car or boat for hours.

In today’s Health Tips in Minutes video, I’m going to tell you about 3 motion sickness remedies, and the one I recommend is all natural and non-drowsy!

I flimed this video while on a boat in Monterey, CA. I took a trip to find whales, and we got to see killer whales and grey whales! You’ll see a snippet of one of the videos I took of the wild orcas (killer whales). Such a fantastic experience!

Healthy Nacho Plate!

Healthy lunch idea of the day: For lunch, I made a plate with organic blue tortilla chips, low sodium black beans, low sodium garbanzo beans, low sodium corn, fresh avocado sprinkled with jalapenos and cilantro and served with a side of salsa. Dish has about 260 calories, 16 grams of protein, 15.5 grams of fat, and 160 mg of sodium, and no cholesterol!
